TRY OUT - 2024" at the Hockey International Academy Europa Stars in Bratislava (Slovakia)
Attention! There have been changes in the player scouting and employment system at the Academy in Slovakia. Due to the National Hockey Union Congress held on June 16, 2019, in Bratislava, Slovakia, where the "New changes in sports rules from 23.06.2017" were approved, including those for foreigners (legionnaires). A decision was made that starting from the 2019/2020/2021/22/23/24/25 season, all players (foreigners) will remain legionnaires (foreigners) until they acquire Slovak citizenship. They must pay a fee to the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation (SZĽH) for 2 consecutive seasons at the contract signing stage. Field players - 3000 Euros. Goalkeepers - 6000 Euros. Also, a limit of 2 legionnaires (foreigners) per team was set in the Children's Hockey League from 5th grade to Cadets U-16 and in the 1st Kaufland League Dorast U-18 and Junior U-20. For the Extra League Dorast U18 and Junior U20 – 1 player.
Also, for the 2023/2024/25 season and beyond, the National Hockey Union Congress has adopted new rules for Youth age categories and the development of game models:
New Age Categories and Corresponding Competitions according to the approved template:
Juniors (up to 20 years) - Junior Extraliga, Junior 1st League
Adolescents (up to 17 years) - Dorast Extraliga, Dorast 1st League
Senior Schoolchildren (9th grade up to 15 years; 8th grade up to 14 years) - High School "AA" League
Senior League "A"
Junior Schoolchildren (7th grade up to 13 years; 6th grade up to 12 years) - Junior School "AA" League
Junior League "A"
Development HP5 (5th grade up to 11 years) - Development competitions 5th grade
Development HP4 (4th grade up to 10 years) - Development competitions 4th grade
The reasons for the changes primarily include synchronizing age categories with school years, facilitating training process planning, and, not least, creating competitions with teams of similar quality. This is expected to elevate the level of individual competitions and contribute to player development.
This step is also aimed at minimizing the so-called aging of players, thereby creating an environment that fosters team creation within the respective categories, reflecting the actual age of players in these categories.
