Foreign Player Fees and Team Limits

According to the Slovak sports law SP SZĽH, p. 5.3.3. (dated 23.06.2017) and the amendments from 30.04.2020, for the 2020/2021 season an international player pays a participation fee for the right to compete in the open championship (OČS):

  • Field players (defenders/forwards): 3,000 Euros per season
  • Goalkeepers: 6,000 Euros per season

Team Participation Limits for Foreign Players:

  • League for Younger Schoolchildren A (ages 9–10): Maximum of 2 foreign players per team.
  • League for Younger Schoolchildren AA (ages 11–12): Maximum of 2 foreign players per team.
  • League for Older Schoolchildren A (ages 13–14): Maximum of 2 foreign players per team.
  • League for Older Schoolchildren AA (ages 14–15): Maximum of 2 foreign players per team.
  • Youth Extra League Dorast (ages 16–17): Maximum of 1 foreign player per team (with no foreign goalkeeper allowed).
  • First Youth League Dorast (ages 16–17): Maximum of 1 foreign player per team (with no foreign goalkeeper allowed).

Living Arrangements & Included Services

A. Living with a Host Family – What’s Included:

  • Legal and Administrative Support:
    • Establishment of legal guardianship through a Slovak court (for non-EU citizens).
    • Preparation of all documents needed to obtain a national D visa in Slovakia (except for Russian/Belarusian citizens) or outside Slovakia (except for EU citizens).
    • Assistance with obtaining a temporary residence permit (VNZ) in Slovakia (for non-EU citizens).
  • Medical and Insurance Services:
    • Medical sports commission evaluation.
    • Medical migration commission (for non-EU citizens).
    • Standard one-year insurance policy valid in Slovakia.
  • Education:
    • Enrollment in a private primary or secondary school, including one school year’s tuition.
    • Entrance fee for the private school (gymnasium).
    • Payment for textbooks and school events for the season.
    • School meal fees for the academic year.
  • Sports:
    • Team membership fees.
    • Bauer hockey equipment for the season (helmet, shoulder pads, two training jerseys, two game jerseys, shorts, two sticks, shin guards).
    • Club uniform:
      • Winter: Warm jacket, hat, sweatshirt.
      • Summer: Two t-shirts, shorts, cap.
  • Accommodation & Transport:
    • Full board accommodation with a host family for 11 months.
    • Monthly public transport pass and transfer service for the child (between school and home during late hours).
    • Planned weekend leisure activities organized by the host family.
    • Transfers to and from the airport (between Vienna/Bratislava) during school holidays.

B. Living Outside a Host Family (with Parents) – What’s Included:

  • Administrative and Legal Services:
    • All documentation for obtaining the national D visa in Slovakia (except for Russian/Belarusian citizens or for those outside the EU) and temporary residence permit (VNZ) in Slovakia (for non-EU citizens).

Payment Rules

  • For Host Family Accommodation:
    Payment is made seasonally, with a security deposit applied.
  • For Living Outside a Host Family:
    Payment is made upfront for two seasons, without a security deposit.

Additional (Optional) Services – For an Extra Fee

  • Participation in commercial tournaments.
  • Training on a skatemill.
  • Individual training sessions with a coach (in the gym or on the ice).
  • One-on-one work with a coach in the shooting center.

Note: These additional training hours are not covered by the academy’s budget and must be paid by the parents if the student-athlete requires them.
