Primary School (Grades 1–8)
Bilingual Primary School with Integrated English Language Instruction
At our school, the curriculum subjects are taught in English, which is used not as an end in itself but as a tool for learning.
The bilingual program has two key objectives:
- Integrating language learning with subject content, giving equal importance to “learning through a foreign language” and “learning to use a foreign language.”
- Meeting the requirements set by the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic.
What We Offer
- Intensive language learning without overloading the timetable.
- A high level of proficiency in a foreign language.
Teaching Method: CLIL
We use the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) method. This approach allows students to develop professional knowledge through a foreign language while simultaneously improving their language skills.
Objectives of the CLIL Method:
- Develop the ability to use the foreign language as a means of communication.
- Cultivate the skill of thinking in the language being studied.
- Maintain a balance between language education and subject-specific learning.
Advantages of the CLIL Method:
- Improved communicative skills.
- Expanded vocabulary and enhanced fluency.
- Increased motivation through real-life learning situations.
- Development of a positive attitude toward the foreign language.
- Enhanced cultural awareness and preparation for life in a multicultural society.
