Profile and Themes of an IB/DP Student

Who Is This Format for?
This educational format is designed for students who are genuinely interested in the learning process and ready for intensive and in-depth study.
Key Features of the Program:
- In-Depth Specialization:
Students choose only 6 subjects, which allows them to focus on the areas that interest them the most. - High Academic Load:
Despite the smaller number of subjects, the program demands a deeper understanding of the material and significant effort. - Development of Independence:
Learners must be ambitious, disciplined, capable of effective time management, and ready to face challenging tasks.
Program Advantages:
- Individual Approach and Greater Opportunities for Personal Expression.
- Development of Critical Thinking Skills and Initiative.
- Preparation for Studying Abroad through the Study of Subjects in English.
Requirements and Preliminary Readiness Assessment:
Before starting the IBDP, a preliminary test is administered. This test provides parents and students with an objective assessment of their readiness for this form of education.
Program Structure:
Students independently shape their educational program by choosing one subject from each of the following six groups:
- Native Language (Language A).
- Foreign Language (Language B):
Options include English, German, Spanish, French, or Russian. - Humanities (Individuals and Societies):
Subjects such as History, Economics, Geography, Environmental Systems and Societies. - Sciences:
Options include Physics, Biology, Chemistry, or Computer Science. - Mathematics.
- Electives:
An additional subject chosen from groups 2–5.
Note:
As an academically oriented school, we do not offer subjects in the field of “Arts.” Instead, the focus is on in-depth study of foreign languages from Group 2.
Subject Levels:
Each subject can be studied at one of two levels:
- Higher Level (HL): 5 hours per week.
- Standard Level (SL): 3–4 hours per week.
Students choose three subjects at HL and three subjects at SL. This structure allows for an in-depth study of the most important disciplines while maintaining a balance between academic workload and specialization.
Note:
Each school defines the list of offered subjects according to its available resources and is not required to offer the full range of disciplines provided by the IBDP.
Why Choose the IBDP?
This program is the choice for those who strive for academic excellence and a successful international career.
